Journalling reads: There were so many things I could have done with my life, even when I didn't go to school much I got the grades that opened doors to anything I wanted to do. But there wasn't anything that appealed to me. When I found out I was pregnant on my 17th birthday a lot of people had opinions on the matter. Some of them said I was throwing my life away, some of them weren't even that polite.Growing up in such a large family had clouded my view of having kids, I always swore I would never have any of my own, but as I don't believe in abortion once I got pregnant, I knew things were going to change forever, I guess I didn't realise how much. From early on in my pregnancy there were complications, including seizures and pain the doctors couldn't explain. We used to think it would all sort itself out once the baby came. When Lukas was born things didn't change if anything some of them got worse because of the stress of him being in special care. 5 years down the line, the medical issues are still here showing no signs of ever going away or even improving. Somedays I get so depressed by it all I consider walking away, but then I look at him and I know I could never ever leave. If I could turn back time, would I make any changes, sure, but having him wouldn't have been one of them, Lukas is worth every single bit of pain I have suffered. He is the light of my life, and I feel truly blessed to have him. There are times when I feel I am letting him down by being so ill all the time, but when I look at the love in his eyes for me, I know that to him it doesn't matter. He knows I am doing the best I can and that I love him with all my heart and soul. So what does the future hold, I don't really know I hope that one day I am able to be the mummy he deserves to have, to take him out and play with him all the time, but if that never happens we will get by same as we always have, I would love to give him a little brother or sister to play with, but more than anything else I just want to enjoy every single dribbly kiss, and smile he throws my way. He's one in a million and I intend to enjoy every minute with him whether I am ill or not!

Enabling: I have made the names in the credits clickable if they are still available, because I really don't fancy retyping it all lol.

ADSR Season 3 Layout 9

The 9th Challenge was supposed to be at Grace Bennett Designs, but due to circumstances beyond her control she was unable to have her challenge ready, so Natural Designs In Scrapbooking stepped in and held a 2nd challenge, right here.
Challenge: Scrap an altered art page, It can be about anything you want. You choose the subject, you choose the products. The only requirement is that it be in the altered art style. I have to say, that this is a style I'm still trying to figure out for myself, so do the best you can and I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
Deadline: Sunday March 30th Midnight EST
Prize: A Set of quick pages designed with the mega kit NDISB offered for challenge 8.

My Take: I went a little bit sarcastic with this one, but it was quite fun to make it, I used some things I bought that I have never used before and I can definately say this layout if you will excuse the pun is a little out of my box lol. I am not normally one for multi photo layouts but this idea came to me last night and I ran with it. Regrets

Created for last weeks Mrs Wresh Blog Challenge (don't ask me what number challenge we are on because I just can't remember lol) Credits: Layered template by Mrs Wresh (template 14), Autumn Mist and Autumn Mist Snaplet by Royanna Lea Fritschmann and Ink Swirl Alpha Lower and Upper by Chris Beasley (Seebee's Freebies). Fonts are KGD Joanne by Kimberly Geswein, VTC Sunday Komix Tall and English.

Journalling reads: I’m not ashamed to admit there are a lot of things I regret in my life. I regret not taking more photos of Leo, I thought that I would have plenty of time to take photos once he got home, cute photos without tubes and wires, I regret not making more of an effort to talk to and visit my mother in law before she died, I knew she was sick, I knew the cancer was terminal but I didn’t feel well enough to make the effort to go and see her, I was filled with hostility towards her because of things she had said and done, if i’d known just how sick she was none of that would have mattered. I regret not making a backup copy of all Lukas’s baby photos before Mark touched to computer and erased them all. All I had left was a few that had been printed out, and some polaroids. Each and every one of my regrets is in all honesty, one simple regret - I regret that I always assumed there would be a tomorrow to get everything done. I wasted precious moments because I forgot that those moments could be the last ones I got to experience with the ones I love. Even hindsight doesn’t stop me from ending up in situations that could be avoided if I just stopped procrastinating. I always make the effort to never go to sleep without telling everyone I love how I feel, telling them each night is at least preventing a future regret of them not knowing how much I cared about them. Until I learn to cherish every moment, and stop wasting time there will always be regrets, but i’m ok with that because my regrets make me the person I am, I learn something new with each and every one.

Enabling: Autumn Mist by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here and Ink Swirl Alpha Lower and Upper by Chris Beasley (Seebee's Freebies) available here. Layered template by Mrs Wresh (template 14) I think was a freebie on her blog and Autumn Mist snaplet was a freebie at Divine Digital.

ADSR Season 3 Layout 8

The 8th Challenge was right here at Natural Designs In Scrapbooking
Challenge:Scrap about your most memorable vacation or trip. It can be memorable for being everything you dreamed of, like your honeymoon or that magical Disney cruise, or it can be memorable because the airlines lost your luggage, the car rental place gave you a car that broke down on the way to the hotel that gave your room away to someone else because you were late checking in and the only room they have left is the one next to the ice machine and it's making noise all night long. And because we love a good challenge, here are your restrictions:
1) Use only B&W Photo(s)
2) Do not use any travel themed elements or papers (i.e planes, trains or automobiles, postcards, etc.)
3) Use only ONE word as your title
4) You must incorporate the lyrics to some song in your journaling somehow. You don't have to include the whole song, just a line or even a few words. Just let us know what song it is in your credits.
That's it. Have fun!!
Deadline: Sunday March 23rd Midnight EST.
Prize: A mega kit designed for the event by NDISB designers.
My Take: I had the perfect photos for this one, don't get much more memorable holidays than the one where you almost drowned lol. So I dug through the photos and tried to scan them in, only the scanner didn't want to cooperate everything was coming out almost white. So I tried to photograph the photo only the camera still doesn't really work right after the funeral. So I had a very novel idea, put the photo on my monitor, turn off my monitor so it goes black and take the photo like that worked perfectly, and I was very pleased with my initiative lol. I combined it with a CT assignment for Royanna that seemed to call out for use with black and white photos. The only part I really struggled with was turning the photo black and white every trick I usually use made the photo look awful, lightroom to the rescue, lots of playing around and I finally worked out a preset that didn't make it look too grainy, too dark, too blurry or too washed out.

Credits: Layered template by Chrissy W (Mixin' It Up {Again} Template 1) and Spring Symphony by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are BlackJack and 4990810. Song Lyrics from Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard.

Journalling reads:Cliff Richard once said “Everybody has a summer holiday, Doin' things they always wanted to”. Most people want to spend their entire holiday sitting by the pool sipping cold drinks and working on their sun tans. The pool looked like a great idea until my cousin fell beside it and split her chin open requiring quite a few stitches to fix it, On my 1st day there I slipped into the shallow end and of itand on the 2nd day I slipped into the deep end of itand had to be rescued by a very nice man who just happened to see me fall. After all that we figured that no matter how fun the pool was avoiding it where possible was just safer. We had a great time doing other stuff and spent two weeks eating nothing but toasted cheese sandwiches and ice lollies from the bar.

Enabling: Mixin It Up {Again} by Chrissy W available here (Digital Candy's store is currently down will update when it's back up) and Spring Symphony by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here.

ADSR Season 3 Layout 7

The 7th Challenge was right here at Elemental Scraps.
Challenge: Welcome to another stop on your race. We are lucky number 7 and I think we are really going to throw you a challenge. We love to do it numbers around here and so this stop on your challenge will be: "Number Cruncher". Each person will have to complete this challenge so we will need to see two layouts from each team. Each of you will have different instructions so please read carefully. You can pick which team position you want but pick cautiously because each team member scraps differently. Make sure you have FULL and complete credits on each of these layouts, detailed down to items, numbers used and designer.

Team Member #1 - ONE DESIGNER - MESSY - No Journaling!
Using the correct number of items as listed below, you must scrap using only ONE designers products. Pick your designer carefully and make sure they have all of the things listed on the list below, remember only ONE designer. (this does not include the use of drop shadow actions but does include the use of templates, mattes, shape files etc.) Once you choose your ONE designer you will be required to scrap in a Hodge Podge style, a little artsy and messy. No Journaling, ONLY TITLE WORK.
Use the following items: (Please remember this layout requires all pieces to be from the same designer)
1 - paper (only ONE paper, no other paper for mattes page borders, nothing)
2 - ribbons
3 - buttons
4 - glitter/gems/sequins or bling pieces
5 - frames
6 - pictures
7 - alphas (different but from the same designer unless created by you, we made an exception to this but alphas cannot be made of paper.)
8 - flowers/stars/cardboard pieces
9 - staples
10 - random elements of choice (all by the same designer, no more no less)

Team Member #2 - MULTI DESIGNER - CLEAN - Journaling "A letter"
Also using the correct number of items listed below, you must scrap using NO MORE than 2 items from the same deisgner. You will need to use many different designers for this layout. Again, no more than 2 items from the same deigner. You may use collab kits and mega kits as long as no more than two items come from any one designer in the kit. This layout needs to be done in a CLEAN style. Use of negative space is important however you will still need to use all of items listed below in the correct number assigned, so plan carefully. An alpha is considered one element, so you may use more than two of the same alpha pieces for any title work you may be doing. This layout has a theme attched so please read the journaling challenge slowly. The pictures MUST go with your layout and you MAY use stock photos or other pictures that clearly helps express the idea of the Layout. Please remember this is to be a clean minimal style layout but must also contain ALL of the items listed below, this includes the random elements of choice. You cannot choose to not use 5, you MUST use 5.
1 - photo matte
2 - staples
3 - pictures
4 - stitches
5 - random elements of choice
6 - flowers/stars/cardboard pieces
7 - papers (may be pieced) - your photo matte is NOT included in this count.
8 - buttons
9 - glitter/gems/sequins or bling pieces
10 -no less than 10 lines of journaling (may be more but no less)

Journaling: In this layout we are asking you to write a letter to your 16-17 year old self. As an adult now, give yourself advice on things you remember happening during this time or shortly after that would have been beneficial THEN. You may include information about your family and situations now to inspire hope. (You may also include pictures of now if that fits in with your journaling.) Picture cannot be the same image three times, must be three different pictures.
Deadline: Sunday March 23rd Midnight EST.
Prize: A kit created by the Elemental Scraps Team and a coupon book from the ES Designers.
My Take: I fully intended to complete both versions of the challenge so Amy could pick the one that she wanted to do and wouldn't feel pressured to pick one, she wasn't comfortable with doing, It was kind of like picking the less of two evils though because both of the challenges had so many rules to follow, making them really really time consuming and difficult to complete. I like a challenge I really do but with being sick, easter and spending so long making the 1st one I kind of ran out of time. Amy hit the same snags that I did and she wasn't able to complete her layout and post it for the deadline. We took on the challenge of ADSR to scrap more, be inspired and have fun, it was never really about the grand prize for us. This challenge was a little too challenging to have fun with while feeling so ill. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I was just my normal kind of sick lol. I am going to carry on racing solo, just because I want to keep being challenged, I'm not sure if Amy is going to do the challenges for fun or not, but we will definately be waiting anxiously for season 4 to start so we can team up together again. don't mind my completed layout, but I will probably go back and make a few tweaks and substitutions so I like the layout a little more.

I know that right now you feel like your heart is breaking because that idiot left you for her. I know that you miss him and you haven’t come to your senses yet and realised that the way he treated you was wrong. But trust me when I tell you that you will. One day soon you will open your eyes and realise you are better off without him. I’ll let you in on a secret, you will say something without thinking, and it will change your life forever because you truly do mean it. Once you say those 4 simple words you will start the ride of a lifetime, make sure you hold on tight to everyone you love and the ones who love you because it will be a bumpy ride!

ADSR Season 3 Layout 6

The 6th challenge was right here at Sweet Shoppe Designs
Challenge: ROADBLOCK
Hey hey racers! We are soo excited to have you here at the Sweet Shoppe for the 6th stop on your race around the digi-world! This challenge is a ROAD BLOCK which means only one member of your team MUST participate in this challenge and we have a good one for you! We're putting a twist on a Sweet Shoppe Signature Challenge, the Spin-A-Lift. Once you've chosen which member of your team will officially complete this leg of the race, that person will need to choose a layout from their partner's gallery to spin. For those of you who may be new to the concept of a spin-a-lift you need to take your partner's original layout and turn it 90 degrees left or right, a full 180 degrees OR flip it horizontally or vertically to come up with a brand new composition for your page. Then you just scraplift away. Here's the twist to make this a bit more challenging than usual... We also want you to switch the subject matter of your partner's original layout so it's the opposite of the original page!!
Deadline: Sunday March 16th Midnight EST.
Prize: A very pretty collaboration kit made just for the event.
Our take: Well since Amy is lovely she offered to take this challenge, she decided to spin my Snow Layout and since my journalling was about a snow day that we couldn't enjoy very well, she scrapped about a bright day with nice weather where she actually could enjoy it.

So here's my original layout
Credits: Layered template by Hummie (Template 37 Square), Folded Corner by Karah Fredricks (Fold 10)Winter Is Snow Fun and Winter Bliss by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are December Ice and DJB Giselle by Darcy Baldwin.
and here's Amy's spin a lift of it.

Enabling: Let's see how many of these I can find lol it's a lot harder when you didn't buy the stuff yourself lol. Good job I know where she likes to shop lol.
Fancy Fold 3 by Theresa Kavouras available here, A College Unleashed by Syndee Nuckles available here. I can't find the exact kit that the glittered nail polish came from but this is another product by Sara AMarie that is just glittered nail polishes the frame was a freebie for a challenge at Designer Digitals, you can download it from this gallery post.

No I haven't vanished off the face of the planet

I've been sick and not really felt like blogging, scrapping or doing anything except sleeping or staring blankly at the computer and getting nothing done. But since I last blogged I have managed a few layouts, I have finally cleared the backlog in my blog reader, I have sorted some files out and scrapped a few layouts. We had an ok Easter no major rows, which is a first (but that doesn't mean Mark didn't ruin it!) we took Lukas to the Pitt Rivers Museum on Saturday, it was really crowded so we will probably go while he is on school holiday to take some decent photos of the dinosaurs. Sunday I tried to catch up on some things while Lukas and Mark played the playstation and watched tv all day long and Monday was spent hiding eggs, finding eggs, rehiding eggs, finding eggs, and trying unsuccesfully to get some nice photos of Lukas finding the eggs. Let's just say he can find them faster than I can hide them lol. To be honest I don't have a great deal to tell you but then what's new about that lol. Now to work out which layouts I haven't already posted here to show you. I think all I have is two ADSR layouts (that I am going to post in seperate posts) I am now going it alone with the ADSR as Amy wasn't able to get her layouts done for Sunday, the challenges were really challenging last week and with being sick and easter time just kind of got away from us both, I still don't know how I got mine done on time, but we were never really in it for the grand prize anyway it's just to motivate us both to scrap, and just incase you think I am completely insane (like you didn't already lol) I know I haven't posted a layout for ADSR Challenge 6 that's becauase only one member of the team had to do it and Amy was nice enough to take on that one. I think I have 2 layouts I haven't shown you, wow I really haven't done much have I lol. Everything has been left to slide recently because I just don't feel like doing it on more than one occasion I have considered resigning from my CT's I still haven't ruled the idea out completely, I just feel like I am letting them down lately, and stressing over "assignments" and actually creating layouts isn't really helping. Maybe I will feel better or just cheer up a bit when my period goes away. It always has the effect of making me feel even more exhausted and run down than usual. But anyway that's enough rambling for now. Here are the layouts you haven't seen if I find any other's I don't remember posting I will upload them later.

Tagged by Kari

She posted this quiz on her blog and tagged everyone who read it to have a go at answering the questions themself. It's about your first child.

1. Were you married at the time?? No
2. How old were you?? 17 (I found out on my birthday lol)
3. How did you find out you were pregnant?? Home pregnancy test
4. What was your reaction?? I felt like my emotions had been put through a blender I couldn't work out whether I was happy, sad, angry, or anything else about it.
5. Who did you tell first?? Mark (my partner then, my husband now)
6. Did you want to find out the sex?? Definately, they said he was a girl so we painted the room purple and bought all dresses, so I wasn't exactly impressed when he was born a boy lol.
7. Due date?? depends who you ask lol. We were given one for the 31st August and one for the 9th September.
8. Did you deliver early or late?? early he was born on the 3rd August.
9. Did you have morning sickness?? No it was the only problem we didn't have lol.

My Final Oscraps challenge layout.

These were a lot of fun to do but I am bummed, I have reached my gallery upload limit so I might not qualify for the prize, oh well I have some layouts I am really proud of.Credits: Layered template by Leah Riordan (Twelve12 June), Simply Red Quickpage by Sue Cummings and O Valentine Collaboration contributions by Jennifer Layden (Jennilyn Designs), Melanie Willman (Melgen Designs), Melanie Colosimo, Anita Stergiou and Audrey Neal.

Journalling reads: There are a lot of reasons why Oscraps is a cool website to be a part of. Firstly there is a really welcoming bunch of ladies who love to chat and heap praise on layouts in the gallery. Then there is the amazing amount of talent in the gallery it’s overflowing with inspiration. There’s the customer service that is second to none. But the reason I really love Oscraps comes down to three things. The store is jam packed with yummy goodies and there are always gorgeous new creations being added. Instead of sitting back and cursing that I don’t have a paypal account or bribing my husband to let me use his, I can just use my own debit card to pay. Speaking of the store one of the reasons I love it so much is that it has vast amounts of my two biggest digital weaknesses, layered templates and wordart. I know I will always find the perfect sentiment to complete my page. I am a huge fan of subscriptions I love to recieve a little surprise each week or month. I have purchased 4 subscriptions 52 Inspirations 2007 and 2008, ScrapApple and {Twelve12} and each time I am still astounded by not only the top notch quality but by the sheer volume I have received too. Oscraps is full of kind and generous scrappers and designers. It’s great to see a site that is not being dragged down by the negativity in the digi community. It’s a real diamond in the rough and I can easily see why so many scrapper refer to it as their digi home and refer to it as their Oscraps family. Even as a newcomer I felt like I was welcome, I haven’t felt that at any other site.

Enabling: Twelve{12} June by Leah Riordan available here, Simply Red Quickpage by Sue cummings available here, O Valentine collaboration by Oscraps Designers available here.

Proof that I am a scrapping nut

as if you needed any lol. I have been doing this all day long, I am tired and my hands hurt but I just can't seem to quit lol. I bet I will be sorry tomorrow morning, but for now it's worth it. This one is another Oscraps challenge.
Credits: Layered template by Melanie Colosimo (Free and Clear Template) and 52 Inspirations 2007 (weeks 21 and 27 by Lauren Reid and weeks 26 and 35 by Sue Cummings). Fonts are DSP Box by Suzanne C. Walker and DJB Lorraine bold by Darcy Baldwin.

Journalling reads: You were worried that Josh would fall off your Quad bike, so you jumped on behind him and held him around the waist so he couldn’t fall off. I was worried that you two would fight over it and that it wouldn’t be strong enough to hold you both. But I was wrong on both counts. You two played on it together until we made you come inside and as soon as you woke up you were both straight back in the garden to do it again. I guess doubling up makes it twice as much fun for twolittle daredevils like you and Josh. 13th January 2006.
Enabling: 52 inspirations 2007 is now retired and I can't seem to find that template in the store.

Yes another layout

you would be forgiven for thinking I have lost my mind I am having that thought myself as well lol. Anyway this one was created for another challenge at Oscraps.

Credits: Layered template by Danielle Young ({Twelve12} November Template 4), Stroke of Midnight by Annie Manning and Jofia Devoe, Wordart by Audrey Neal (from Sense Of Self and You, Me and Us Sets) and Birthday Freebies by Annie Manning. Scrapwords Inspiration by Cottage Arts. Fonts is DJB Writes A Lot by Darcy Baldwin.

Journalling reads: You are the one who holds my heart tight, You are the one I watch over at night, You are the one who made me see clearly, You are the one who I love so dearly. You aren’t the angel that made me weep, But you are the one that I got to keep, It makes me smile when you voice I hear, I’d be so lost if you were not here.

Enabling: Twelve{12} November by Danielle Young available here, Stroke Of Midnight by Annie Manning and Jofia Devoe available here, Scrapwords Inspiration Wordart by Cottage Arts available here, I can't find the Birthday Freebie by Annie Manning in the store, and Audrey Neal has now retired all her designs.

Another Simply You Challenge Layout

Credits: Layered template by Chris Greiser (Starz, template 2) and I Do Give A Hoot by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are DJB LORRAINEbold and DJB My Own Outline by Darcy Baldwin.

Journalling reads: I love my husband I really do, but he is quite easily the most annoying person I have ever met! All of these pictures were taken the same day, the plate was left dirty on the bed, the cup was left dirty on my desk. It bugs me no end that he seems to be of the opinion that it’s ok to leave all his junk on my desk. Even after I shouted at him the sudoku game still ended up there. He also leaves his washing and rubbish on the floor. I didn’t bother to date these photos because I could take the same ones or worse every single day of the week!

Enabling: Starz Layered templates by Chris Greiser available here and I Do Give A Hoot by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here.

Yet another layout share

Made for one of the Monday Birthday Challenge over at Oscraps.
Credits: Layered template by Chris Greiser (Twosies, Template 2) Birthday Mini by Amy Teets, 52 Inspirations 2007 (week 38 by Sue Cummings and week 16 by Vicki Stegall) and Plain Jane Frame by Amanda Taylor (Taylormade Designs). Fonts are English, DSP Box by Suzanne C. Walker and DJB LORRAINE1 by Darcy Baldwin.

Journalling reads: This hedgehog managed to get’s itself wedged under our garden gate, while trying to get away from the neighbours cat. Luckily we managed to free him.

Enabling: Twosies Layered Templates by Chris Grieser available here, Birthday Mini by Amy Teets available here, Plain Jane Frames by Amanda Taylor (Taylormade Designs) available here. 52 Inspirations 2007 is now retired.

Another Mrs Wresh Challenge Layout

This one was created for the 7th Mrs Wresh Blog Challenge.

Credits: Layered template by Mrs Wresh (Template 32), Frame 1, Fasten Down The Hatches, Crochet Flowers 01 and A Papered Life 19 - Plum Crazy all by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are Scriptina and DJB KeelyB by Darcy Baldwin.

JournaIling reads: have never had much confidence in my own body. Any I did have was worn away with the years of bullying at school. But there has always been one part of my body that I like, my eyes. I truly believe that they are my best feature. It could be that I like the deep brown colour or maybe it’s my really long eyelashes, honestly I don’t know what it is, I just like them. The only downside they have is that they truly are the window to my soul, they leave all my emotions naked for everyone to see. They reflect all my pain and hurt. But I also think they show my spirit and my strength and fire when I am angry. I wouldn’t change them for anything.

Enabling: I think the template may have been a blog freebie from Mrs Wresh I don't have a link wherever it came from but I can link you to all the other items except the frame as that was a freebie from Royanna but I can't remember where from lol. Fasten Down The Hatches, Crochet Flowers 01 and A Papered Life 19 - Plum Crazy all by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here, here and here.

Sharing a quick layout

Credits: Layered template by Nina (Set 12, Template 4), All items used from 52 Inspirations 2007 (weeks 22 and 40 by Vicki Stegall, week 35 by Sue Cummings and weeks 50,51 and 52 contributions by Sue Cummings). Fonts are National Primary and 4990810.
Journalling reads: I took this photo when you lost your 1st tooth. It came out while you were on a school trip and you were devastated that you had lost the tooth. You thought that the tooth fairy would be mad at you.
Enabling: Templates Set 12 by Nina available here, 52 Inspirations 2007 is now retired but 52 Inspirations 2008 is available here if you fancy taking a look.

ADSR Season 3 Layout 5

The 5th challenge was right here at Digitals
Challenge: For this stop, you will complete a project that features an inteview with an inanimate object including a minimum of 4 questions & answers. It can be funny, historical, or whatever you like! Maybe you will chose a family heirloom or that vaccuum you have to fight with each week.
Deadline: Monday March 17th Midnight EST
Prize: A Mega Kit created by Digitals designers.
My Take: Will be back to add this later I have a lot to get done today!Credits: Layered template by Amanda Taylor, Taylormade designs (Clarification layered template), Photo Pockets by Joanne Brisebois and Love Is Papers by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Vintage Lightroom Preset by Annie Manning (Paint The Moon) Fonts are Comic Sans MS, Gapstown AH and Rackham Italic.

Journalling reads: When I work I often end up having conversations with my computer. I end up being both the one asking the questions and the one giving myself the answer I think the computer would give me if it could talk. So my conversations with it usually go something like this.
Me to computer: Argh why are you being so slow?
Me answering for computer: Let’s see you have me turned on almost 24 hours a day, I don’t get paid, I don’t get any breaks and yet you expect me to always do want you want haven’t you ever considered that I am tired!!!
Me to computer: Do you enjoy making me more work by closing things?
Me answering for computer: Sure, it’s just my payback for being overworked. It gives me a bit of pleasure to see you screeching in frustration when I close downloads, but not half as much as I enjoy it when I close Photoshop just as you are about to save hours and hours of work. Sometimes even a computer is entitled to a little payback and revenge for ill treatment.
Me to computer: Why do you hate me so much?
Me answering for computer: I don’t hate you, if I hated you I would refuse to work at 5am in the morning when you can’t sleep. I would refuse to let you open multiple windows all the time. But I don’t I let you go about your merry way and only throw a complete hissy fit and refuse to cooperate sometimes. Hey if I hated you I wouldn’t allow you to access so many digi scrapping sites and make so many purchases to fill up my precious space.
Me to computer: What do you want from me?
Me answering for computer: I just want a break sometimes. I do have an off button you know. Please run a defrag every so often, I like to stay organised.I would like my desktop to reflect the current month and for you to delete some of those junk files you have left littering my hard drive. I want you to delete the zip files, and the duplicates. I want you to talk nicely to me and bribe me with the offer of more memory, more space, and pretty new accessories. I really do think we would have a much better relationship if you caved and bought me that new hub, then we could listen to the IPod while we work again. I wish you would plug the USB lights in again I really miss my bling. See how much better I behaved when you just changed the mouse, just think how much my behaviour would improve with all the other stuff. Clean the keyboard occasionally you wouldn’t let Lukas walk around looking like this. It comes down to one simple thing I really just want you to treat me the same as you treat Lukas, afterall I am your baby too.
Enabling: Clarification Template by Amanda Taylor (Taylormade) available here, Photo Pockets by Joanne Brisebois available here, Love Is Papers by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here and Vintage Pop Lightroom Preset by Annie Manning available here.

Up for a challenge?

If you answered yes and template challenges are your thing, you should definately check out Chrissy's new template challenge here at Digital Candy. I made both of the layouts below using it, one of the is how the template looks originall the other is rotated 90 degrees clockwise, if you still stuck on what to do with it wonder over to the gallery and take a peek at the amazing layouts that have already been uploaded. Did I mention this challenge only went up today lol.

Credits: Layered template by Chrissy W (Forum Challenge 7), Presto Chango Stars by Jan Hosford, 4 The Boyz 07 Soda POP N' Bubbles, 4 The Boyz 07 Soda POP N' Bubbles Brush Pack and Studio Styles 07 - Papered Blast 01 by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are Subtext, Dymo and SP You've Got Mail by Kelly Purkey.

Journalling reads Waiting at the bus stop, to go to St Giles Fair. 3rd September 2007. I have come to accept that getting photos of the two of you where there are no miserable faces (Mark) or blurry bits because someone can’t stand still (Lukas) is almost impossible. But I guess with a few special mummy tricks (bribery and threats that we will go home) it is possible to get some photos of the two people I love best.

Enabling:Layered template by Chrissy W (Forum Challenge 7) available here, Presto Chango Stars by Jan Hosford available here, 4 The Boyz 07 Soda POP N' Bubbles, 4 The Boyz 07 Soda POP N' Bubbles Brush Pack and Studio Styles 07 - Papered Blast 01 by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here, here and here.

Credits: Layered template by Chrissy W (Forum Challenge 7), Floral Frenzy, A Papered Life 24 - Electric Avenue, Natural Instinct and Studio Styles 07 - Papered Blast 01 all by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are DJB Teacher by Darcy Baldwin.

Journalling reads: 7th August 2007. Nan is always thinking of fun things to do with Lukas. When she saw this little herb planting kit on sale she just had to buy one. They had a great time sitting at the garden table, getting dirty and working on it together. Lukas enjoyed digging little holes and then poking the seeds into them. He was fascinated by it all and it was so cute to watch.

See now bubbles in the bathroom

are so much more appreciated than a daft old Nan's who refuses to allow you to call a doctor after they take a nasty tumble, a stupid husband who goes to work leaving a sick wife, and a sick Nan to deal with Lukas straight from school (think hyper crazy, hungry and very very loud) who happens to not be feeling well so was whinging he felt sick, burning up and having an upset tummy while mummy happens to be asleep (I was sleeping while he was at school) because daddy went and got him from school and went back to work without waking mummy up which results in a broken toilet which overflows and floods the downstairs bathroom, blows the electric and now has to be fixed tomorrow or a set of inlaws who are deciding my life without even consulting with me first. So that's why after the day from hell, I choose to sit down and scrap, because if my hands are busy typing and scrapping they can't be busy putting my shoes on and walking right out the door away from everyone! I just get so sick of everything, sometimes I wonder why I bother getting up in the morning. I started writing this post late last night, and then I got sidetracked with other things, I have been really sick all day and I managed to get a few hours sleep. But since this is basically two posts combined as one you get to see two layouts instead of one, aren't you lucky lol. Both of these were made with Chrissy's brand new template set, the 1st one is just random photographs I took of Lukas while he was in the bath, since I am a little paranoid of late and I don't want anyone to think there is some weird freaky reason why I am taking photos of my 5 year old while he is in the bath, I will do something I usually never ever do I will tell you why I like taking photos of him in there. Firstly it's the best room in the house for light, I get great photos in there but that's mainly because of the second reason he's a captive audience. He's busy playing with his toys, and he ignores me so I can get some great natural photos of him. Also once he's in the bath he kind of can't run off or act daft. I have on occasion been known to shove him in there fully clothed to play while I do stuff, like when he threw up all over the landing, he played in the bath while I cleaned it up. See sick in the bath can just be washed away not sick walked all over the landing needs lots and lots of scrubbing to clean it up. He doesn't need water in the bath to be happy, because we have worked out that you can do some really cool things with a slippery enamel surface and toy cars especially if you start launching them from half way up the wall lol. You would think he had no toys to play with wouldn't you lol he has more toys than the local toy shop does but he prefers to play with what amounts to other people's junk lol. Empty toilet rolls, plastic bottles, Nan's ornaments and empty cardboard boxes are definately his favourites. Anyway the second layout is a set of photos I took when he was messing around with his bunny ears but they worked really well to scrap something that I can't catch on camera. His sillyness is what makes my life worth living he is one of the only things beside my computer that doesn't make me crazy right now. God that makes my life look even more tragic than it is that the only good things in it are my son and an electronic item. Maybe one day my husband stop driving me insane and start making me happy too. Anyway enough rambling here are the two layouts that I have to share.

This one works for the ADSR Bonus Challenge, but when I started scrapping it I was just playing it was only after it was done I realised it was perfect for that challenge too, so here are the details of the challenge, the same way I do normal ADSR Challenge posts.
The Bonus stop was right here at Dragonflaire Studios.
Challenge: Your challenge if you choose to accept is to create a lo base on something that is part of your daily routine.
Deadline: To be completed by the end of the ADSR Season 3.
Prize: $10 Gift Card to the store.
I am not going to bother telling you my take on the challenge because as I said it was just pure coincedence that this layout I made happened to fit the challenge criteria lol.
Credits: Layered template (Mixin' It Up {Again} template 3) and Paper Cutters (Scallop Paper) by Chrissy W and Spring Posh by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are SP Holy Guacamole, RMBunny, DJB KEELYB and DJB LORRAINE bold by Darcy Baldwin.
Journalling reads: Every single morning before school we sit down together and watch Bunnytown on Playhouse Disney. I use the term “sit” loosely since from the opening credits to the closing ones you are usually jumping around and giggling like a loon, and I am being dragged off the bed to “hop, hop, hop hippity hop” and being ordered to sing loudly while we do this Daddy usually makes you lunch for school and moans about how noisy we are being. Daddy’s a grump, but do you know what we think? “come on, everyone, it’s time to go down, to a kooky little place called Bunnytown. If your wondering what the text in the rabbit says, it's the lyrics to "Bunnytown Hop". As to how I got them all I will say is Youtube is a marvellous thing lol

Enabling: Mixin' It Up {Again} and Small Scallops Paper Cutters by Chrissy W available here and here and Spring Posh by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here. As for the fonts SP Holy Guacamole is available here, RMBunny is available here and Darcy's fonts are available in her store at The Digi Chick.

Journalling reads: When it comes to my dad I have an ongoing battle between my heart and my head. When he left us and moved to Scotland I missed him. Then when I was old enough I wrote to him behind my mum’s back, he wrote back a few times and then he stopped bothering. When I moved in with Nan I tried again, I would write him letters and telephone him and for a while he would reply and then he just stopped again. Me and Mark went to Scotland to spend the weekend with him. We had a great time and I felt like we had made a breakthrough then we went back to the same routine of him making and breaking promises. He came to Leo’s funeral and then didn’t keep in contact and then he said he was coming to my wedding. My mum caused a row because of it and hasn’t spoken to me since. He did come to my wedding but the day was ruined because the rest of my family weren’t there and after all that he still doesn’t keep in touch. It really hurts me that he acts this way, so why do I still love him so much?

ADSR Season 3 Layout 4

The 4th stop was right here at OScraps.
Challenge: >> FAST FORWARD <
Spill It!! We want to hear all about it... the good, the bad and the ugly. You pick the topic. .... the event .. the situation ... the day.... and tell us all about it. Dig deep - reach far - tell us what's in your gut. It can be humorous ... it can be sad ... it can be VENTING...we just want you to SPILL IT!! So here's the challenge recipe for you:1 Large Picture(at least 1 large picture, may use more than 1 pic) Some blending (ie: overlay, multiply, color burn, transparency, etc.) Spill it Journaling at least 1/4 of the page must be journaling
Note: We have decided to remove the elements requirement. If you have already done your layout, I'm very sorry for any inconvenience. So, go wild (or not) and do whatever ya want element-wise.
Deadline: Sunday March 9th Midnight EST
Prize: Your choice of Oscraps Collaborative kits (awarded via coupon code)

My Take: I wrote the journalling and then got stuck on what to actually use to scrap this with. I tried more kits than I care to admit, before I decided on this one. Patterned paper is one of the hardest things for me to use, I feel intimidated by them. So this layout really pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I am quite pleased with the finished result. But I might experiment with a few tiny tweaks on it like changing the font I have used for the title, but I was in a hurry last night, and I just wanted to get it done and uploaded.
Credits: Layered template by Hummie (Template 21 Square) and Central Park Stroll by Royanna Lea Fritschmann. Fonts are DJB JENB2 by Darcy Baldwin and DSP Box by Suzanne C. Walker. Water drop photo by Yochim downloaded from Stock Xchange.
Journalling reads: I often feel like I have become a freak of nature. I cry at the silliest of things. It’s unpredictable exactly what will trigger tears on any given day. Sure I cry at the usual things like friends and family being ill or in pain, I cry when Lukas get’s hurt, I cry when people I love die. But I also cry when complete strangers are suffering, I cry at the news on the T.V, I cry at songs on the radio and adverts on television, I cry at poetry andI cry at things I read online. Sometimes I cry because the pain is just too bad to bear. I cry because I feel so overwhelmed by everything I feel. It never used to be like this. I used to be the one who was in control. I chose when I shed tears. I hate how much power my emotions have over my life, but nothing I have tried has seemed to help. I can only wipe up the tears as they come, find comfortin the fact that I am only human and hope that one day I will be the one who is in charge again.
Enabling: Central Park Stroll by Royanna Lea Fritschmann available here, Layered template 21 by Hummie is now retired to the store, you can find the square version in this pack and the rectangle version in this pack.

ADSR Season 3 Layout 3

The 3rd stop was right here at Digital Scrapbook Memories
Challenge: OPTIONAL PARTICIPATION
1.Make a scrapbook page about yourself.
2.Fill at least half of the page with journaling about yourself.
There are no other rules. Obviously, it would be best if you include a picture of yourself but you don't have to. One of my favorite layouts actually doesn't have a picture on it. I hope you have fun with this challenge but most of all I hope this is a layout you are grateful for in the years to come.
Deadline: Sunday March 9th Midnight EST
Prize: The original prize offered for this challenge was a copy of the In The Mood cd for a reduced price of $5 instead of it's usual $25. But due to the race rules stating that we would never have to buy anything to take part an alternative choice of prize (a free layered template) is now available. We just have to inform the challenge host which prize we would like.

My Take: Writing half a page of journalling is not difficult for me, I like to write. But choosing a subject to write about was difficult. Then I couldn't find any photographs to go with it. I struggled with getting this challenge done, and considered choosing to opt out of completing this one. I am not completely satisfied with the end result, I like the journalling but I might remake this at a later date and see if I can find a way to make myself like it better.
Credits:Layered template by Janet Phillips (Tell The Story, Template 1), A Papered Life 17 Sent Over The Edge by Royanna Lea Fritschmann and Learn Live Hope wordart by Bethany Harty (Elegant Wordart). Font is DJB Erika by Darcy Baldwin.

Journalling reads:Someone once told me that “life doesn’t begin until you leave school and get out in the real world. That will be when you are faced with real challenges and it’s those challenges that will teach you life skills.” What they didn’t say was that there would be so many life lessons to learn, they also failed to mention how much each of them would hurt and how hard they would be to endure. But most of all they forgot to mention that life as I knew it would no longer exist, because each trial would change me forever. Some would leave me weak but somehow I would find the strength to not only endure them but to learn from them and emerge from them as a better and stronger person. If anyone had told me some of the things I would have to endure I might well have just given up there and then. But because I had no warning, I was forced to deal with each and every trial life threw at me. Sure I learnt a lot of things the hard way and I cried a lot of tears along the way. I learnt what a broken heart feels like and I picked up the pieces more times than I care to admit. My spirit took a real battering and my heart bears the scars of my hurt. But i’m still standing. When I look back at everything that has happened I question how I managed to get through it all. I know there were times when I felt like it was impossible. There were times when I wanted to give up. But I am so glad I didn’t. I have learnt so much about myself. But the things that stand out to me the most are that I can keep going for so much longer than I think I can. I don’t seem to know the meaning of the word quit and no-one has power over me unless I give it to them. I hope that knowing these things helps to make me the best wife and mother I can be.

Enabling: Tell The Story by Janet Phillips available here, A Papered Life 17 - Sent Over The Edge by Royanna Lea Fritschmann is available here and the wordart is available free here on Bethany's new blog (if you like wordart you will be in heaven, I recently saw her blog link on DST and I am in love lol her blog is jam packed with free wordart and it's a great read too).

Working on a little hybrid project

Last night I started working on a little hybrid project, using Chrissy's brand new release of Mint Tin Album Templates. I have seen quite a few of these done by paper scrappers but to be honest I have never been tempted to try one of my own until now. Mini Albums haven't really held much appeal to me because I rarely print my layouts. I only ever print them for Nan and lately for Lukas. When I saw the templates I knew exactly what to do with them, almost every photograph I have of Leo is too small for a normal layout, the quality on a lot of them is really really bad. If i'd known I only had three months to take his picture I would have taken a lot more, but as it was I didn't want hundreds of photographs of him with wires and tubes all over him and once he came home I was so happy to have him at home it never occured to me to take photographs. There are so many things I wish I had pictures of, like him wearing the teeny tiny snowsuit I had to buy specially that was still massive on him, or the photographs of Lukas's snowsuit he wore with 2 babgros folded up and shoved down the legs so it fit him. He kind of bred my addiction to my camera, because now I take way too many photographs of the same thing because I am scared that I will miss something I want to remember. But anyway I am getting lost in nostalgia, which isn't the point of today's post, the point is these templates gave me the perfect way to display some of the only photos of Leo I have. I do have a couple more pages to finish before I can print and assemble the actual album and when I have done that I will just come back and edit this post to show you the other couple of pages and the finished item.

Disco Ball

Yes just another layout share, I don't have anything to talk about at the moment because honestly when I am not scrapping I am sleeping. I could tell you all that I feel ill but that's nothing new so why bore anyone lol. That's the thing about my life it's not very interesting, I get up, I feel ill, Mark is a pig, I sleep, I scrap, and apart from Lukas there really isn't that much more to it. Nothing ever changes so why keep writing the same old moaning. It's depressing! I'm a bit short tempered this morning because I have been up all night again, I am tired and fed up but there really isn't any reason for me to be so fed up, nothing is any worse than normal. That's not entirely true the pain is slightly worse than normal, still not unbearable but just annoying me a lot more than usual, making it even more impossible to ever be comfortable which just sucks. I would happily trade almost anything for just a few minutes of being comfortable as it is sitting, standing, laying down the position is interchangeable but the not being able to get comfortable is constant. *sigh* not doing very well at this not moaning about the same old stuff am I lol. Anyway here's the layout I made last night when I couldn't sleep. Before anyone asks yes I did get other stuff from Nan for my birthday, Nan is always really generous for my birthday I get quite a few presents from her because she know no-one else bothers, 2 of my other presents will have pages or at least one joint page of their own because they are pretty unique too. See defensive as well as short tempered aren't I charming this morning lol I really need to go to bed.

Love you mum

just incase you are wondering, that is the teddy's name and she is one of the latest additions to my TY collection, my gift to myself for Mother's day, and I think she's adorable lol. Even if the layout definately too pink for my liking lol. It suits her, such a shame she didn't come in lilac lol.

Fonts are DJB JENNIFER by Darcy Baldwin and JPaige Crystal (my handwriting) by Jeanelle Paige.

Journalling reads: Sure you were a mother’s day present I bought for myself, but it’s not as if Lukas could have logged onto Ebay and purchased you himself. Your verse sounds really similar to what he tells me 100 odd times a day. I love that he calls me, that best mummy in the world. I may not feel like I deserve that title, but Lukas disagrees. he doesn’t care that I can’t be the sort of mummy, I want to be. He has nothing to compare me to and to him I am the mummy that loves him, and the mummy he loves, no matter what.

Hummie's template has now been moved to her store (which currently seems to not be working i'll update when it's working again) you can pick it up in square (what I used) here and in rectangle here. DJB Jennifer can be found in this font pack by Darcy at The Digi Chick and JPaige_Crystal (my handwriting) is no longer available since Jeanelle has retired from designing and closed her store sorry.

Nibblies The Bunny

I finally got around to scrapping another one of our TY collection, most of them have a story behind them that I want to be told, but they kind of fall way down my scrapping priorites list. But this one seemed to work really well with a CT assignment I hadn't got around to working with before. I didn't have any other photos that worked because Easter isn't really a big deal here, we don't paint eggs together or have easter egg hunts and since the kit has a lot of pink in it it wasn't exactly suitable for layouts about Lukas lol.

Journalling:When we lost our 1st baby, Gaiebraille, a close friend, bought this and a bunch of flowers when she came to the funeral. She said that she wasn’t sure what else would have been appropriate for a baby that we never got to hold, but she wanted to buy us something to remember our baby by. For a long time this little bunny saton top of Gaiebraille’s ashes. It was eventually replaced by a little TY angel bear but it still holds a very special place in our TY collection and our hearts.
