Journalling reads: Lukas hates going shopping now that we are within walking distance of the local supermarket. So he was definately less than impressed when we walked out of the shop and it was pouring down with rain. We tried to wait it out under the cover at the front of the shop, but with Logan getting fed up underneath his raincover and Lukas starting to whinge and complain, so we all decided it might be a better idea to just walk and get wet. As we walked through the tunnel the rain stopped, and so did Lukas’s moaning. He was excited because he could see a very faint rainbow begin to appear. He started chattering away about Leprechauns and pots of gold and I decided to take advantage of the fact that I had the camera in my handbag. As we stood there the tiny sliver of a rainbow turned into one huge one across the sky, it was so big I couldn’t even take a photo of all of it. The colours got brighter and more intense and the whole sky changed colour from a very dark black to a pretty blue grey. Half of the sky was light and the other side was still dark. None of us had ever seen anything quite like it, eventually there were two full rainbows that were overlapping each other. I had a great time taking pictures, but the boys patience finally ran out and it was time to leave, and finish walking home. It was as we turned to walk away Lukas said something truly adorable, “Mummy, I think Leo got every one of his colours out today”. After Leo died we had told him that since Leo was an angel he got to help paint the sunset at night, I was really surprised and touched that he had remembered me telling him that.
