Nativity
Credits: Layered template (Round Abouts, Template 4) by Janet Bracewell (JanetB Designs), 31 Photos by Laura White (C.W Picket & Company), Black and White Brad Alpha by Melissa Robinson (Melly Scraps) and Night Music, Night Music Cardstock, Night Music Glitter and Music Genius Scatter Brushes all by Jewel Goodwin (Mad Genius Designs). Fonts are Myriad Pro and My Fair Cody.
Journalling reads: Thanks to the poor lighting in the school hall, this was the only fairly decent photo I managed to get during your first Nativity play. You were part of the choir and had a red star tied around your neck. You were not happy and seemed a lot more interested in chewing the string on your star, than you did in standing and singing.

That's Not A Toy
Credits: Layered template (Template Challenge 9th May 2010) and Painted Edgers 04 by Katie Pertiet and P365 Roy G. Biv Fall (slightly recoloured), Project 365 Papers Roy G. Biv Solids and Dots (slightly recoloured) and Project 365 Papers The Basics. Fonts are Century Gothic, MTF Jotted by Miss Tiina and sf Tiscia's Sloppy by Sugar Frog Fonts.
Journalling reads: I’m not really sure why, you always prefer to play with my kitchen equipment instead of your own toys. No matter what it is I buy you it’s discarded in a few minutes if you bother to look at it at all. But show you my colander and you will sit for ages, sometimes an hour or longer, picking it up, putting stuff in it, trying to push things through the holes and of course your most favourite use of all, wearing it on your head like it’s a little hat!
Josh In The Bath
Credits: Layered template (Noon Layered Template Chat 11th September 2010) by Pattie Knox and P365 Roy G. Biv Spring and Project 365 Papers Roy G. Biv Solids and Dots both by Laura White (C.W Picket & Company). Fonts are Nyala and Franklin Gothic Medium.
Journalling reads: When Josh first stayed with us, bathtimes were no fun for him. He was scared and used to scream the whole time. At first we thought maybe the water was hotter than he was used to. Lukas has always loved the bath so we weren’t really sure what to do to make it better for him. We seemed to solve the problems by being really patient with him and using the bath seat suctioned to the bottom of the bath. It wasn’t long before he decided to try out one of Lukas’s bath toys, a water wheel and he was soon happy to play with Lukas and splash water everywhere.

Grass Hater
Credits: Layered template (Template Inspiration, 25th July 2010) by Katie Pertiet and Project 365 Papers Roy G. Biv Solids and Dots, P365 Roy G. Biv Summer and P365 Date Labels all by Laura White (C.W Picket & Company). Font is Pea Paula by Amanda Bottom (Fonts For Peas).
Journalling reads: Logan loves to go to the park, his favourite things to go on are the slides and the swings but there isn’t really anything he hates, except for one thing - the grass. He hates the feeling of it. He will crawl around on the concrete or the dirt or walk around using the any of the play equipment, but the minute he gets to any grass he just stops. He sits there for a while thinking how to get around touching the grass, he growls at it for a while before he admits defeat and starts whining to be picked up and taken away from his nemesis. It’s a great way to keep him where I want him to be in the park.
Footprints In The Snow
Credits: Layered template (Template Challenge 2nd May 2010) by Katie Pertiet and P365 Roy G. Biv Winter by Laura White (C.W Picket & Company). Font is Pea Emma by Amanda Bottom (Fonts For Peas).
Journalling reads: It’s really rare for us to get any snow here, so when I looked out of the window and saw it was knee deep in some places I was super excited. I wanted to capture the whole experience so we would never forget it. I started taking photographs before everyone else got up, mostly leaning out of the window watching the snow fall. I took photographs of the cars and the trees while everyone slept they were excited about the snow but not enough to get up out of bed and watch it. When they finally got up out of bed, I photographed Lukas getting all bundled up in his warm outdoor clothes before we went out to play in the snow as a family. This was one of my favourite shots, Lukas’s first footprints in the snow. 6th April 2008

Chewing The Ribbon
Credits: Layered template (Template Inspiration, 18th July 2010) by Katie Pertiet and Reach For The Stars by Janet Bracewell (JanetB Designs). Font is DJB Christina by Darcy Baldwin.
Journalling reads: Logan is a lot like Lukas when it comes to putting things in his mouth. He loves to chew on things that he shouldn’t have. Some of his favourite things to suck and chew on are strings, shoelaces and straps. But hands down his most favourite thing is ribbons. When he found my ribbon bag, he must have thought he had died and gone to heaven. Out of all the ribbons I had in the bag, this Christmas one appealed to him the most and he happily munched on it in his swing for over an hour, before falling fast asleep, still holding it.
One Wish

Journalling reads: If someone was to give me just one wish, I would wish that this time would last a little bit longer. I sit here beside you just watching you sleep. You look so peaceful and innocent. You don’t have a single care in the world as you dream your little baby dreams. All too soon you will be learning new things and growing up, changing from a baby to a little boy. It’s going to be a fun ride but there will never be another moment in time where you rely completely on me, I am going to miss you just being my little baby boy Logan.

Journalling reads: When it comes to your birthday we have never really had much luck. Every year something goes wrong and the day never turns out as we planned, but usually we make the best of it, and you usually end up having 2 birthday cakes (at least) as a kind of compensation. But this year was the worst so far we planned a birthday party but changed our minds because I was feeling too ill to cope with other people’s kids. We planned a meal at Fire and Stone but then you changed your mind. We looked at going to see Toy Story 3 as a family and then having a meal at Oxy or ordering dominos pizza. At the end of the day none of our plans meant anything because on your birthday, we ended up being homeless, having no money and sleeping on Grampy’s floor. We planned to go swimming but we ended up missing the swimming session because everything took longer then it should have done and our last ditch plan to go to the park was ruined when it rained. We did end up going to the small park by Grampy’s house and we did light the candles on your cake, but there was nothing else that made it seem like a birthday. You had already had your birthday presents from us and Nana, and the only other person you usually get a gift from is Lisa. It broke my heart a little more when you said it was the worst birthday ever. I am so sorry Lukas, I really did try and make your day special but I failed miserably at it. I promise you as soon as we are settled in the new house, I will make it up to you. Maybe we can have a half birthday celebration as a second chance to make it amazing. I only hope that we have officially used up our bad luck quota and next year you will finally get the perfect birthday Lukas!

Giant Inflatable Football
Credits: Layered template (Survivor Template) by Melissa Robinson (Melly Scraps) and My Soccer Star Wordart and My Soccer Star by Laura White (C.W Picket and Company). Font is Monika.
Journalling reads: I love to look in the reduced sections in shops, where Daddy says “they put all the junk no-one wants”. I have often found things that are fun for us to play with, even if they were not originally designed to be toys. Like this giant inflatable football. It was released as a party decoration during the World Cup. I picked it up after the World Cup was over and they were clearing stock, for just 10p. We had a great time kicking it and throwing it around the house, then you worked out how to sit on it like a chair. When we were done with it we just had to deflate it for another day. Since it was completely flat it could be stored anywhere, we put it into the changing bag to play with at the park.
