Children In Need 2012
Credits: Layered template (Memory Makers Volume 17, Template 1) and Giggles both by Jen C Designs. Fonts are Chunk Type, Children In Need, Blush Bear and Pudsey Bear.
Journalling reads: Since I will happily take any chance I get to buy cute dressing up clothes for the kids, and I am a bit of a soft touch when it comes to charities raising money for kids, there was no way that Children In Need wouldn’t be popular in this household. We have acquired a huge amount of Pudsey merchandise since Lukas was a baby from bear ears to bears. Somehow I never seem to be able to capture any decent photos of the kids enjoying it though. Logan had a non uniform day at school to raise money, he had a really cute Pudsey top but I didn’t manage to get a single photo. He had these crazy patterned Pudsey PJs which I was sure I had photos of but can’t find. Leia had a bright yellow Pudsey Bear suit but wasn’t feeling like sitting still for anything other than some slightly blurry photos. Nov 2012

Journalling reads: I wouldn’t really say that you were ever the sort of baby who liked soft toys. They seemed to hold no interest to you and you would just throw them on the floor or ignore them, All of them except for this bear. It was only a cheap impulse purchase but you decided it was the best thing ever. It was rare to find you in the swing without it in your hands, stroking the soft blanket or chewing on the little bear. 25/01/2010

Journalling reads: Photos like these are one of the main reasons I scrap. If I don’t take the time to record why I took these photos all of these little moments will be lost forever. I will never just remember, this stage that you went through of stripping off as many of your clothes as possible, emptying out my washing basket (or a box at a push) and settling yourself down with a piece of paper and a pen to draw. I might forget that it was the only time you were ever silent or still. I doubt though that I will ever forget the wicked grin you always gave me as you were busted yet again for using your whole body as a canvas for artwork once you had filled the paper up. 17th August 2013.

Epic

Journalling reads: Shopping for clothes with you is always fun, you have a bit of a thing for t-shirts especially ones with slogans. This one says, I feel epic. The day these photos were taken you told me “the park is epic, just like me” I couldn’t believe that you said that, and I burst out laughing, you never fail to surprise me little man.
Weightloss

Journalling reads: Ever get the impression that you have been here done that? Yeah, me too, especially when it comes to weight loss. I lost 2.5 stone with a combination of Slimming World while I was pregnant with Leia and Weight Watchers afterwards. Then life happened, and the reasons don’t really matter but I put all but 2lb of it back on again. Anyone will tell you that losing weight is hard and keeping it off is even harder. Excuses are easier to come by than motivation sometimes. But long story short, I reached a point where I was fast running out of clothes that fit, hating my body and I needed to rejoin Weight Watchers. I knew that I had to write myself some new rules to try and stay on track this time around. 1. Track everything as accurately as possible, good or bad. 2. There is no “only” allowed after weigh ins, “I only lost 0.5lb” etc. a loss is a loss and should be celebrated. 3. Expect the path to be bumpy and be prepared, slips happen and while I am only human, I know that a bad day doesn’t have to turn into a bad week/month, but it’s easy for that to happen if you don’t have the tools in place to stop it or pick up the pieces. 4. You need a really good reason to skip a meeting, and “I just don’t feel like it” won’t cut it. 5. Just because they are eating something doesn’t mean I have to, it’s fine to say no thank you to what Mark wants for dinner and make myself something even if it is cereal or soup. For me losing weight has to be about how I feel rather than how I look, but I am loving fitting back in this outfit again. 19/09/2014.

Journalling reads: While we were out on the Geocache walk in Sanford, we all got wet and cold in the brief rain showers. We decided that the kids might enjoy sharing a hot drink to warm up. Luckily there was a pub we passed that had a Costa Coffee inside. They sat outside in the pub garden with Daddy while I went inside and ordered them a cup of hot chocolate to share. Even though all three of them moaned because the pub was out of cream for the top. It was so cute to watch them take it in turns to sip from the cup, and pass it around between snacks but the most adorable thing was watching the boys blow it so that it was cool enough for Leia to try some.
Geocache Walk

Journalling reads: I could pretend that I take my kids on nature walks to show them the environment and make them appreciate the area we live in. I could say that I plan to point out things that will educate them about the history of the local area, but we all know that isn’t really true. I don’t really set out with a concrete plan, we start walking with a few Geocaches in mind to look for. We pack snacks, drinks and coats and we wonder around until we get bored. We look for parks, we search for squirrels. We let them run around a bit to tire them out and I show them anything I think might interest them. But they really couldn’t care less what was written on the plaque or why this spot was being preserved, all they saw was this flat surface at the perfect height to climb all over!
