Journalling reads: There is nothing that little kids like more than role play and dressing up, unless they get to do those during school time. While you were in Reception at Pegasus, they decided to arrange a pirate picnic at the end of the year. All of the parents were asked to make or buy a pirate outfit and accessories. There was a no swords rule, so we added a little plastic telescope. We had a lovely time at home decorating a treasure chest and filling it with some coloured beads, plastic gold coins and tacky plastic jewellery. We were all invited to come and watch as you all paraded around the playground in your costumes and then stay for a picnic. When you came out you had somehow managed to lose your waistcoat and your eye patch. It was a really fun day for everyone but more than anything, it was lovely that we all got to be included in a school activity, and were allowed to take some photos to remember this special occasion. July 2007.

Journalling reads: When I took back at this set of photos, it’s kind of nice to see no clue of everything that was going on. We were trying to get the house ready to move in to. Me and Daddy were both stressed out and overwhelmed by all of the things that we had to do. There were a lot of long days and late nights, and you had to spend a lot of time in the pushchair or in the baby walker. We were so lucky that you and Lukas always found ways to amuse yourself and that smiles still came so easily for you. 25th August 2010

Journalling reads: Looking back at our wedding day I still find it hard to believe that we pulled it off. It was such a stressful time so many things went wrong and I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I considered cancelling it many times. I know without a shadow of a doubt that we could never have managed any of it without all of Nan’s love and support. I will be forever grateful to her for everything she did.
